How crates work

A crate is a sealed box from the intake belt. You pay Scrap, the server decides what's inside, and the Cratekin goes straight to your Shelf.

Crates on the belt right now

  • Rejectory Surplus Crate — 250 Scrap. A slightly dented crate from the intake belt. Something inside is rustling. It can contain 10 of the 10 Cratekin.

What happens when you open one

  1. Your browser asks the server to open the crate. It doesn't send a result or a price, only which crate.
  2. The server checks your balance and takes the price, in the same step that records the result, so a crate can never be opened twice for one payment.
  3. It picks a rarity using the crate's published odds and a cryptographically secure random number generator.
  4. It picks one Cratekin of that rarity from the crate's contents, each equally likely.
  5. The Cratekin is added to your Shelf, and the opening is recorded together with the odds that applied.
  6. Only then does your browser play the shake, burst and reveal.

Fair by design

  • Every opening is independent. There are no streaks, pity timers or hidden modifiers.
  • The odds are the same for everyone, guests and accounts alike.
  • Because the server decides, changing anything in your browser can't change the result.
  • There is a speed limit on opening crates to keep automated scripts out.

Running out of Scrap

Work a shift on the Sorting Line or at the Repair Bench: every shift pays Scrap, and a few shifts earn a crate.
